Supply & Demand
Trends
Supply
In June, MOSFETs, MCUs, and diodes were the most tested components. Other frequently inspected items included converters, capacitors, regulators, FPGA's, amplifiers, IGBTs, and switches. Around 47% of tests covered various other electronic components. We encountered Renesas Electronics, representing 4.4% of inspected components. Formed by merged Hitachi and Mitsubishi Electric's semiconductor divisions, Renesas’ wide range of parts from low-power to high-end MCUs, MPUs, SoCs, and analog devices..

Demand
In June, the Demand Index saw a 17-point (15%) increase to reach 125, marking the second consecutive rise since April 2023's low of 101. Notably, Circuit Protection surged by 23 points (15.2%), a significant shift from April 2023's 103. Strong double-digit growth was seen across various categories, including Connectors (20 pts), Passives (19 pts), Discrete Semiconductor (16 pts), Power Products (16 pts), and Electromechanical (15 pts). This turnaround is significant as it represents the first overall increase in demand indices since July 2022.
