Electric Motors & Motor Accessories

Electric motors and motor accessories generate power and torque, provide positional feedback, and assist in motor operation. Electric motors include AC induction motors and DC motors. AC induction motors draw power and torque with electromagnetic induction and typically come in three-phase units. DC motors generate mechanical torque with DC voltage in lighter applications. DC motors have simpler speed controls and require less maintenance. Electric motor accessories include electric brake assemblies and capacitors. Electric brake assemblies allow three-phase electric brake motors to provide quick stopping action and positive holds, while electric motor capacitors create rotating magnetic fields. Capacitors also provide continuous energy and torque to support motors during startup.
