Electric Motor Controls

Electric motor controls regulate motor speed, torque, and acceleration in electromechanical systems. Soft starters control motor acceleration during startup to protect AC electric motors. They reduce electrical current surge, torque, and load in the powertrain and minimize mechanical wear. Soft starters have built-in protection features to maintain consistent voltage when used in compressors, conveyors, pumps, and other heavy-duty machinery. Variable frequency drives control motor speed and torque in electromechanical systems. They adjust the motor’s input frequency and voltage and monitor and regulate input loads to prevent surges. Servo drives provide controlled power to electric servomechanisms, monitor and regulate power flow, and give motor feedback. Servo drives come with encoders to identify unwanted motion or confirm the motor is operating correctly.
